Convention Student Application is now CLOSED.

Thank you to Gary Krishnan, Dr. Sukant Mohapatra, Yunus Ali, Phani Rajesh Mulapudi (Sribatsa Das for Robotics Nerd Subscription),  Sandip Dasverma, Dr. Prabhakar Singh, Madu Narahari, Susil Panda, Manoj Panda/Mahaswta Rath, Dr. Birendra Jena, Subodh Mishra, Ranganath Mishra and Superna Behera for sponsorshing the students students.

Seventeen (17) students were offered sponsorship. The following fourteen (14) students accepted sponsorship. Twelve (12) attended due to last minute cancellation due to flight issues. We expect students to continue spreading NITROAA and convention related messages on social media.

We would like to encourage students to attend NITROAA convention.  Accordingly, a limited number of students, subject to availability of sponsorship, will be provided free registration, meal and board in the convention.  Thus far, 16 student sponsorships are currently available and awarded.  Selection will be a competitive process. The sponsorships are possible due to generous contribution of alumni who open their wallets and hearts to help students. Convention team encourages competition.

Following are criteria:

1. Applicants must be full-time MS, MBA or PhD. students.
2. Applicants who have not received free admission to any past NITROAA conventions will receive priority over others who have already availed it in the past.
3. Applicant will need to pay for his or her transportation. Convention will not pay for transportation.
4. In order to promote student diversity, up to 2 from each batch will be sponsored subject to availability. Applicants who have received sponsorship at least twice in past will be disqualified. Coordinated application of multiple applicants from a batch will result in rejecting all applicants from that batch. The numbers of free student registration, food and meal are subject to availability of sponsorship.
5. Free rooms with shared  accommodation will be available based on convention room booking. In the event of early arrival and late departure, hotel room will not be covered by the convention.
6. Students coming from outside NJ/NY area will be given preference for free rooms over those from NJ/NY. We hope to accommodate all.
7. The applicants are expected to ACTIVELY assist NITROAA. The assistance includes making non-member students to become NITROAA student members, making phone calls, sending e-mails, increasing website traffic, sharing convention marketing communication, increasing social media (Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, WhatsApp Groups) likes of convention posts, sharing convention related posts on social media, re-twitting convention related Twitter posts, and liking and sharing convention related YouTube video on social media. Each new membership will earn 25 points and each social media like, share, re-tweet will fetch 1/4 point. Applicants will not be selected based on first-cum-first-serve basis. Convention team will require assistance the night before convention. Convention team may require assistance with registration and live streaming.
8. Sponsorship may be revoked for applicants found to be meddling sponsorship award in his or her favor. Any applicant found to be critical of the convention team will be rejected. Any applicant found to be manipulating the system will be rejected and if sponsorship is awarded will be revoked.
9. Above rules can be changed by the Convention team without notice.
